INDIANS - through the eyes we glimpse lives
In the early 2000’s I travelled through the mid to north of India - roughly from Rajasthan through to Orissa. I was amazed to the diversity of peoples and began to glimpse the complexity of local cultures. I also started to standardise the way I photographed people - engagement through the lens, for me, is the key to the power of a portrait - through which we, as the viewer, can briefly catch an understanding of their lives.
