PRIMITIVE TRIBES OF INDIA

1993

During a recent trip to India I discovered a complete cultural sub-class - even lower than the ‘untouchables’ - these are the tribal peoples. Their culture and spiritual beliefs are taken from their lands and forests, deities live in the streams and trees. They have no monetary wealth, rather ‘ownership’ of the forest trees. They are very superstitious and independent.
